Principal

Experience

Tom has worked in the pension field for 17 years advising boards of trustees and corporate clients on all matters relating to pension plans ranging in size from single member plans to large multi-employer plans.

With comprehensive experience in areas of plan design, valuation, governance, and administration, Tom has recently been involved in advising his clients with respect to the significant changes in the legislative landscape in Western Canada. He has advised clients with respect to the conversion to new types of plan designs (e.g. target benefit plans) as well as the complex task of plan mergers.

Through a 2008 acquisition, Tom joined a national human resources consulting firm. Since then, in addition to continuing to serve his clients, he broadened his experience by managing teams of analysts and consultants and working with a national committee to improve and standardize tools and processes for the company. One of Tom’s passions is solving problems with the goal of improving people’s lives.

Prior to 2008, Tom was a consultant at a regional, independent consulting firm in Vancouver. Starting in 2018, Tom is excited to return to a local, independent consulting firm to allow him to focus on his clients and provide mentorship to our team.
