Scott Lunney

Scott Lunney is a Senior Analyst at George & Bell Consulting with over 7 years of experience in the pension, benefits and investment industry. He provides consulting advice to health and welfare trusts, disability plans, single and multi-employer pension plans and not-for-profit organizations.

Prior to joining George & Bell, Scott was an Actuarial Analyst at a major consulting firm where he advised clients on their group benefit plans and performed actuarial valuations.

Scott assists clients with a variety of matters including contribution rate setting for group benefits, developing and revising policies for benefits and investments, and conducting funding and accounting valuations for pension plans, post-retirement benefits and long-term disability plans. He also works with institutional clients on investment matters such as asset mix studies, investment manager searches and asset liability modelling.

Before moving into the actuarial field, Scott worked as the statistician for the British Columbia provincial government’s mineral economics division where he developed models to analyze the global mining economy. Scott was also a calculus course instructor at the University of Victoria.

Qualifications & Education

Scott holds a Master of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Honours Mathematics with a Minor in Computer Science from the University of Victoria. He is currently pursuing FSA and FCIA designations.
